Coloradoan Endorses George Leing

Press Release

Date: Oct. 8, 2014
Location: Fort Colins, CO

The Coloradoan today announced its endorsement of George Leing for Congress in Colorado's 2nd Congressional District. The Editorial board chose to endorse Leing over incumbent Jared Polis, stating they found Leing's "straightforward and honest approach were refreshing in a time of political intransigence." On the other hand, they said incumbent Jared Polis "didn't impress the board" and that his "answers were often unfocused."

The board went on to say Leing "appeared genuine in his efforts to listen to others. As one editorial board member said, 'I felt like I could call George if I had an issue.'" They asserted Polis "didn't share a willingness to represent our specific issues, such as funding for Interstate 25 or consequences of the Affordable Health Care Act that are affecting local businesses...and appeared removed from Fort Collins and Larimer County."

Leing is honored to receive the endorsement and grateful that his passion to serve the District and break the gridlock in Washington through a common sense approach has been recognized by the Coloradoan.

"It is my hope that this endorsement will encourage the citizens of our District to vote for me when they receive their ballots next week. I am committed to taking my skills as a 30 year business negotiator to Congress and representing the interests and needs of the people of our District, not those of party bosses and Washington insiders," said Leing.
